Two ways to do it. The first takes about ten seconds.
Your account, your backed-up programs and your profile photo are removed straight away. Nothing is queued and nobody reviews it.
If you have lost the phone, cannot sign in, or would rather ask in writing, send an email from the address you signed up with. We use that to confirm the account is yours; we cannot delete an account on the word of a different address.
Write the email for meActed on within 30 days, usually the same week. You will get a note confirming when it is done.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your sign-in account and email address | Deleted |
| Programs backed up to the account | Deleted |
| Lesson progress, favourites, machine setup | Deleted |
| Profile photo | Deleted |
| Sign-in and tool-open counts | Deleted |
| Programs on the phone itself | Kept — that is the working copy, and it is yours |
| Your date of birth and display name | Deleted |
| Free macro programs used | Deleted |
| Files you exported to Downloads or a USB stick | Kept — we never had them |
| A record that a referral code was redeemed | Kept — only so the same code cannot be used twice |
| Your Google Play subscription and purchase record | Held by Google, not by us |
Deleted data is removed from the live database immediately. Google's own infrastructure backups may hold a copy for up to 30 more days before they roll over. Nothing is read from those backups, and they are not used to restore an account that has been deleted.
You do not have to delete your account to stop the backup. Switch it off in Settings and the app carries on exactly as before, because the phone was always the copy it worked from. Nothing new leaves the device.
Settings → Export writes every saved program and setting to one plain file. Do that first. Deleting the account removes the backup, and if you then lose the phone there is nothing to go back to.
